I’m Matt Badiali and for the last 15 years, I was a financial analyst, writer and speaker specializing in natural resources companies. I traveled all over the world, touring projects, meeting management, and talking to investors.
Over that period, I became adept at finding companies that had excellent leadership, strong financials, and the potential to rise in value. That last didn’t always happen right away. However, I’m proud of my track record for making people money.
My background is geology. Officially, I hold a Bachelor of Science degree from The Pennsylvania State University and a Masters of Science degree from Florida Atlantic University. I also spent five years grinding on a Ph.D. at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.
However, when we were expecting our first child, I stepped away from graduate school and took a job with friends in the financial industry. Best decision I ever made…
I owe a debt to my mentors in finance – Rick Rule, Dr. Steve Sjuggerud, Miles Thomson, Brent Cook, Ken Cunningham, Dave Caulfield, Van Simmons, Porter Stansberry and many others.
Remarkably, I still call them my friends!
As I grew older, I realized that there’s more to life than making money. Many people I met spent the bulk of their lives racing around, trying to accumulate as big a pile as they could. They sacrificed families, health, and huge swaths of time for that one goal.
Over the course of fifteen years, I saw many of them come to the realization that money isn’t the goal of life. You don’t find satisfaction from a pile of cash…
I use money to create wealth – through service to others, travelling to see other cultures, being with friends and family, and teaching my children those things. That’s what makes us wealthy.
As I begin this next phase of my career, I intend to build a community of like-minded people. Conscious investing for conscientious investors. We will invest in companies that merit our money. But mainly we will build wealth.
I hope you will sign up for my blog, where I'll continue to talk about investing, wealth, and daily life.
